— The first rule of the FwdNest inboxYour nest is empty
New messages will appear here automatically. You can keep receiving email while the address is active.
No messages to read yet
Select a message to read it here. New messages will appear in the list on the left.
Instead of sharing your real email every time you sign up…
Software trials, gaming platforms, and forum giveaways all ask for your email. Send them to a temporary nest first, then forward only the messages you want to keep.
…give verification codes a temporary nest instead
-
Get an address instantly
No sign-up or personal details needed. Get a @fwdnest.com temporary address as soon as you open the page.
-
Verification codes arrive in real time
Your inbox checks for new messages every 7 seconds. Demo codes use a monospaced font; actual messages follow the sender's format.
-
Extend or get a new address
Addresses are active for 3 hours by default. Extend yours by another 3 hours with one click, or get a new address to invalidate the old one.
-
Automatically cleared at expiration
Expired addresses can't receive new messages, and email is cleared when the address expires. Use an email address you can access long-term for important accounts.
When to use disposable email
Want to try some software? Use a temporary address for the activation email. If you plan to buy it, keep using it, or recover your account, switch to an email address you can access long-term.
We do two things:give verification codes a place to land and keep your real inbox private. Temporary addresses aren't for account recovery; forward only the messages you'll need long-term.
The FwdNest inbox rule
One place, two kinds of inbox
Disposable email is for “this time”; forwarding is for “every time after that.”
Disposable email vs. email forwarding
Choose based on whether you need to receive email once or keep receiving it.
| Feature | Free disposable email | Email forwarding |
|---|---|---|
| Login required | No. Just open the home page and use it. | Yes. Sign in with an email verification code—no password needed. |
| Address lifetime | 3 hours by default; extend by 3 hours each time | Doesn't expire with a temporary address; disable or delete it whenever you like |
| Where to read messages | In the inbox on this page | Forwarded to your regular inbox; the dashboard keeps a 30-day history |
| After expiration | The address stops receiving email, and messages are cleared when it expires | Depends on the alias status; new messages won't be forwarded once it's disabled |
| Best for | Sign-up codes, trial activations, and one-time confirmations | Regular accounts, subscriptions, and services where you may need to recover a password |

Is disposable email safe?
A random address can help keep your real email out of sign-up forms, but it doesn't guarantee anonymity. Don't use it for banking, identity documents, or recovery of important accounts. Keep your current browser's access credentials safe; clearing browser data, changing addresses, or letting an address expire may make the inbox unrecoverable.
Can't receive a verification code at your temporary email address?
Refresh the inbox once, check that the address entered on the website matches exactly, and make sure it hasn't expired. Some websites don't accept disposable email; a new address isn't guaranteed to get around those restrictions. For more steps, see Troubleshooting missing verification codes.
How long can I use a temporary email address?
New addresses are active for 3 hours by default; check the countdown on the page. Each time you click “Extend by 3 hours,” the service requests another 3 hours. The countdown updates when the extension succeeds. Take care of important messages before the address expires. Learn more: How long does disposable email last?.
What is an email forwarding address?
It's a @fwdnest.com alias that forwards messages to the email address you used to sign in. Websites usually see only the alias. Disable it to stop future forwarding. This doesn't guarantee that third-party websites will accept the domain, and it doesn't replace the security settings on your regular email account.
Do I need to sign up to use temporary email?
No. Temporary email is ready to use as soon as you open the page. You only need to sign in with an email verification code to manage forwarding. If two-step verification is enabled, you'll also need the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
