Waiting and resending
Repeated resend requests can make it harder to work out what's wrong
There's no standard delivery time that applies to every website. Sending queues, email policies and verification code expiry are controlled by each service. Follow the instructions on the sending page rather than repeatedly clicking the button.
1
Keep using your current address
Manually refresh the inbox once and check that the address is still valid. The FwdNest home page checks for new messages every 7 seconds; that's the check frequency, not a promise that a verification code will arrive within that time.
If little time remains, request a 3-hour extension before the address expires. An extension only gives you more time to receive messages; it won't speed up an email that's already on its way.
2
Resend only when the sender allows it
Check the sending page for a countdown, request limit or extra verification. Don't keep requesting codes while you're in a cooldown period, or switch repeatedly between multiple addresses.
“Sent” may only mean the request was accepted; it doesn't necessarily mean the email was delivered. If the problem continues, note the time and any messages on the page, then ask the sender to investigate.
3
Use the latest code according to the sender's rules
Some services invalidate the old code when you request another; others keep it valid. Don't assume the first code to arrive is the one to use, and don't mix up codes from different sign-up sessions.
Check the sender, purpose and request time. Enter the code only on a trusted page you opened yourself. Never share a verification code with support or anyone else, even if it has expired.
